"Self Portait"

I've waited a while to post this (it's way out of order), as I don't think it's very good - but I've gotten huge flack from those of you clever enough to have noticed that we skipped a serial number back in January!

So here's 80041, my first publically released self portait.  It's actually pretty close - the only thing I think I did wrong here is that I made my eyes too big.  A little gray-alienish.

Done in finished pencils on 11x17 Blueline art board and completed in January sometime.

"Her Dream"

A commisson request for a touching Rogue/Gambit scene, with the fruition of their relationship in hand!

Done in finished pencils on 11x17 Blueline art board and completed 3/26.

"Her Dream"

"His Dream"

The feminine desire in the commission request above was really evident, so I decided that this piece would create a nice balance.

I supposed they might also be entitled "Before" and "After!" :)

Done in finished pencils on 11x17 Blueline art board and completed 3/27.

This piece will be up for grabs on eBay soon.

His Dream

"Serendipity Cover"

A commissioned piece for a UK-based pulp collectibles catalog.  I was very excited to be contacted about doing a cover for them as I've had this 50's pop-culture piece in the corner of my brain for awhile.

This was also my first venture into "multi-media" publishing as this piece came together in four layers and was only fully assembled after digitizing.  I'm not sure how I feel about a piece of art for which there is no "original."

There are notable movie stars in the pic, one of which is really obvious, the others less so.  I don't know if you can make out all the detail in this scan, but feel free to send me your guesses!

Done in finished pencils on various sized art board, digitized and completed on 3/28.

"Oriana"

My first publishable ink piece!  It's not actually for sale, but I included it in my catalog.

"As Vesta was from Latmos hill descending
She spied a maiden Queen the same ascending
Attended on by all the shepherd's swain;
To whom Diana's darlings came running down amain
First two by two, then three by three together
Leaving their Goddess all alone, hasted thither;
And mingling with the shepherds of her train,
With mirthful tunes her presence did entertain.
Then sang the shepherds and nymphs of Diana:
Long live fair Oriana!"

- Thomas Weelkes (on Queen Elizabeth)

Done in ink on 8x10 Blueline art board and completed 4/1.
